Angkor national museum houses are one of the world's largest collections of Khmer art, including sculptural, ceramics, bronzes, and ethnographic objects. After finished the Angkor National Museum, You will continue to visit the Sunset on the Phnom Bakheng or Phnom Krom, late 9th century was the state temple of the first capital of Angkor Period. Begin the ascent from the east side at the foot of the hill close to the road. The view from the top is magnificent, particularly of Angkor Wat to the South East and the most popular spot for tourist at sunset. The three prominent hills of the area, Phnom Bakheng, Phnom Krom and Phnom Bok were all crowned with temples at the same period.

Getting up early in the early so that you can see the Sunrise at Angkor Wat in early morning with your driver and tour guide. The city of Angkor Thom, founded by Jayavarman VII in the late of 12th century, was one of the largest of all Khmer cities and remained the capital until 17th century. 

You enter the city  the  through the monumental south gate, its tower feature four faces pointing in each of cardinal directions with the elephants holding up the main gate preceded by a no less impressive Avenue of Gods and Ashuras (Giants) lining the bridge across the structure moat by following the Bayon Art Style.

The Bayon or state temple of Jayavarman VII is one of the most enigmatic and power religious constructions in the world. It is a unique mass of “faces tower” which create a stone-mountain of ascending peaks. There were originally 49 towers of which 37 are still standing today. 

Most are carved with four faces on each cardinal point. The central tower has many more.

The Elephant Terrace is at the heart of Angkor Thom and looks out overage Royal spare. 

It marks the entrance to the Royal Palace and was the focal point for Royal receptions. The Carving of the elephants along its Walls gives it its modern name.

Terrace of Leper King, This massive terrace is named after the 15th century sculpture that was discovered on top of it. It probably dates back to the reign of Jayavarman VII and has been restored in a manner, which allows visitor to explore the earliest to most recent additions by actually entering the internal layers of the structure.

After taking some lunch and relaxation at the local restaurant,  In the afternoon transfer to the archaeological site and continue to other temples such as Ta Prohm Temple, Banteay Kdei Temple, and Srasrang Reservoir the manmade pond.  

Ta Prohm Temple was built in the 12th century by Jayavarman VII as a royal monastery. It was dedicated to the king’s mother. 

This temple was chosen to be left in its natural state as an example of how most of Angkor looked, upon its rediscovery in the 18th century. Shrouded in jungle, the temple of Ta Prohm is ethereal in aspect and conjures up a romantic aura with gigantic roots and branches intimately intertwined with the stoned and probing walls to form a natural roof above the man mad structures.

In the morning, you will continue your temple visit, including Prasat Kravan with unique brick sculptures, Pre Rup, the mountain temple, Ta Som, Neak Pean, a foundation built in the middle of a pool and representing the paradisiacal Himalayan mountain-lake, Eastern Mebon, guarded at its corner by stone figures of harnessed elephants, some of which are still in a reasonable state of preservation.

Preah Khan, built in the 12th century was one of Jayavarman VII’s largest projects dedicated to his father. Preah Khan was much more than a temple with over 1,000 teachers it appears also to have been a Buddhist university as well as a considerable city. Preah Khan is location on the western edge of its own long Baray, the Jayatataka, and a terraced landing stage at the end of the temple West-East axis access to the lake with a moat surrounding the city.

The third enclosure bounded by another late rite wall is the grandest with four gopuras and located within the enclosure is the Hall of Dancers decorated with friezes of dancing Apsara. You can cross Preah khan from East to West or vice versa. As you walk, be aware by the magnificent stone sculptures of giant graduals, each one grasping the tail of naga, its traditional enemy, in each hand. The restoration of Preah Khan is currently undertaken by the World Monuments Fund, a US based foundation.

In the afternoon, heading up for tour of Banteay Srei Temple, the most exquisite temple in the complex.  Banteay Srei is the “Citadel of Women” or “Citadel of Beauty”presumably referring to its size and the delicacy of its decoration. Unlike the major sites at Angkor, Banteay Srei was not a royal temple. It was built not by the kings, but by Brahmin Priests. Often described in terms as the “Jewel of Khmer Art”, Banteay Srei is a temple of great beauty, and compares with little else in Angkor. Its miniature scale almost always surprises visitors, and the near total decoration of its surfaces are exceptional. For its protection, the most inner spaces of the temple are closed to public.

Morning start @ 07:00AM-07:30AM 

To visit the Kulen Mountain, walk 1hr and 30 minutes through the forest to the top of the hill to reach Kulen Moutain. This is where the 500 year long age of Angkor began. Phnom Kulen is the mountain on which Jayavarman II initiated the royal good of the king linga cult in 802AD, declaring a unified and independent Khmer Empire under a single ruler and beginning what would later become known as the Angkor period (though the capital city would not actually move to the Angkor area for another century.) soon after the ceremony, Jayavarman II moved his capital from Phnom Kulen to the area near the modern town of Rolous (see the Rolouse Group) where it was to remain for almost a century before moving to the Angkor area.

There are several minor ruins at Phnom Kulen including hundreds of linga stands in the Siem Reap River. Water fall and active pagoda. It’s a bit over 50km each way from Siem Reap so set aside at least a haft day trip there and back. 

Most people first climb up to the top of the mountain to have a look and to pray at the pagoda with the large resting Buddha. The statue of Buddha is carved in a boulder of sandstone and is one of the biggest you can find in Cambodia. Walk around the statue and you will notice that at the back of the statue a lot of people leave money and small notes with whishes for their families and friends. Before going down take you time to enjoy the view. You will see a part of the jungle and forests that are still presented in Cambodia. After this you can go down by following a small trial which leads to small sanctums and a natural source with holy water. A lot of people wash their hands and face with this holy water hoping it will bring them good luck. 

Beng Melea temple has three gallery walls and a moat at the entrance. The interior temple area is a big pile of rubble, great for climbing around and exploring. There was a movie recently filmed here and the filmmakers left their ramps, making it a bit easier to get around. The east entrance is closed because of many fallen rocks, but enter just to the right of the main entrance and look for the relief images of the god of fire over the first door as you approach the gallery by the first ramp, then an image of a three-headed elephant born of the mythical Churning of the Ocean of Milk (the Hindu creation legend). A small library is inside this first gallery area. From here, plunge into the temple center.

Visit to the floating village of Chong Khneas, located 15 kilometers south of Siem Reap. Visit village, crocodile farm, fish farm and take boat trip in a traditional wooden boat on the Tonle Sap Lake,the great lake of Cambodia, one of the wonders of Asia.

Afternoon Start @ 1:30:00PM-2:00:00PM

Cambodian Cultural Village (CCV) is a theme park and museum in Siem Reap, Cambodia. It is located on the road to and from the airport, 6 km from the town.

The theme park was constructed in 2001 and opened to the public on 24 September 2003. It covers a total area of 210,000 square meters. The CCV presents miniature versions of important historical buildings and structures, together with local customs. There are eleven unique villages, representing the varied culture heritage of nineteen ethnic groups. At each village are wood houses, carvings in stone, traditional performances in different styles such as: Apsara dancing, performances of ethnic minorities from the north-east of Cambodia, traditional wedding ceremony, circus, folk games, peacock dancing, acrobats, elephant shows, boxing and more.

Cambodian Cultural Village is considered by some as "kitsch", but is popular with Cambodians and other Asian visitors. It includes a wax museum displaying scenes from the culture and history of Cambodia.
